This year’s member show will feature SOBA Members’ best work and will be judged by Christina Chastain, a multifaceted artist and proactive leader in arts education from Lancaster, SC. Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra - Symphony Under the Stars

In April, 2016, the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra will offer its annual “Symphony Under the Stars” in a large festive tent at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn under the baton of John Morris Russell. Patrons can enjoy dinner with friends at tables of 10 and then relax and enjoy this lively program. Table groups use the concert themes to inspire costumes, table decorations and dinner menus as they compete for a variety of prizes. What a fun way to get into the spirit of this exciting evening!

Music & Taste on the Harbour 

This exciting seasonal event returns at Neptune Statue, combining the best local bands with delicious food and drinks. Now in its eighth season, the spring outdoor concert series will kick-off with Deas Guyz and will feature a variety of bands on Thursday nights throughout April and May. Shelter Cove Harbour restaurants will set up as usual around Neptune and will offer a variety of specially-priced light appetizers, wine, beer and cocktails. Limited seating will be provided so you are encouraged to bring your own chairs.

Always...Patsy Cline   

International hit musical “Always Patsy Cline” returns to the Lowcountry this April following a sold-out run last July. Returning with the production is its extraordinary Nashville cast! The show is based on the true story of Cline’s friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in 1961, and continued a correspondence with Cline until her death.

The Hilton Head Island Boat Show

The Hilton Head Island Boat Show takes place on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24 from 10 am - 6:00 pm, admission is $15 per person ($12 online advance purchase) with children 12 and under free.  Free parking is available in several locations throughout the Windmill Harbour neighborhood, with free trolley shuttle service to the South Carolina Yacht Club.  Entry to the show is not permitted by boat and the show takes place rain or shine.  The private South Carolina Yacht Club will be open to the public for dining and tours of the clubhouse and facilities can be scheduled for later dates by appointment.

Beaufort County Spring Tour

More than 40 years before the English settled at Jamestown in Virginia, the Spanish established a town and fort on the shores of Port Royal Sound in Beaufort County, S.C. Celebrating it’s 450th Anniversary, Santa Elena is the featured organization for the 2016 Beaufort County Spring Tour. In addition to festivals, tours, lectures, art workshops and exhibits, you’ll have the opportunity to step foot on the El Galeon (a 175-foot, 495-ton authentic wooden replica of a galleon that was part of Spain’s West Indies fleet).

16th Annual Juried Art Market

The Art Market at Historic Honey Horn, a juried art and craft festival, will be held Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1.  The event will host 90 accomplished artists from the region and from across the country who will bring their best work to compete for $5,000 in prize money.  Artists were juried into this show to provide a wide variety of fine art, photography, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, wood, and fiber arts.
