The Society of Bluffton Artists welcomes 9 talented past presidents with a varied collection of their recent work. Music & Taste on the Harbour

12th Annual Beer & Brats Festival: Bluffton’s Oktoberfest

Sponsored by the Old Town Bluffton Merchants Society, the 12th Annual Beer and Brats Festival will be held on October 1st, 2016. This event is held at the Bluffton Village between the Old Town Bluffton Post Office and the Library. Admission is $5 for adults and children 12 and under are free.

Sponsored by the Island Rec Center, this fun-filled festival hosts local restaurants cooking their best slider burgers to compete for your vote; meanwhile in the beer garden sponsored by Ocean Woods Landscaping will give you have a chance to taste 20 different brews. The Kid Zone will have bounce houses and games for your child’s entertainment at a minimal fee. Don’t want to miss your favorite college team play? SOBA Gallery Presents “12”

The Society of Bluffton Artists presents “12,” a new and exciting collection of 12 x 12 inch paintings and photographs by over 100 local artists, each selling for only $120. This event has been such a hit in the past that SOBA decided to do it again! Enjoy the art and consider shopping for unique and unusual gifts: local paintings and photographs! The show will be displayed from October 3 – November 6 with an opening reception on Sunday October 9, 3-5 pm. Paper Narratives

Muse Gallery Hilton Head presents a show titled “Paper Narratives” featuring all new works on paper by artists Randall LaGro, Allison Luce, Mel Rea, and Signe Stuart. The Opening Reception will be held on Friday October 7th from 6-9 pm with artists Randall LaGro, Mel Rea, and Allison Luce in attendance. The show will be available to view at the gallery for the month of October.

32nd Annual Chili Cookoff

Hosted by the Kieanis Clubs of Hilton Head Island, this year's event will focus on local chili cooks in the professional and amateur category with separate awards for each. There will be live music and an area with free children’s games and activities, including a water slide, so parents can fully enjoy the festivities. Historic Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival

The 12th annual Historic Bluffton Arts and Seafood Festival will be held in the charming and eclectic historic district of Bluffton SC, well known for its quirky art community and natural river beauty. The festival is a week-long event offering a myriad of activities, showcasing the locally harvested seafood, delicious Lowcountry cuisine, rich history, culture and art of the area, and Southern hospitality found only in Bluffton.

The highlight of the festival is the Street fest which includes a juried fine art show featuring over 100 artists from 10 different states displaying and selling their art, delicious food provided by the area’s premier restaurants and caterers and great music and entertainment on Saturday, October 22nd and Sunday, October 23rd.

2016 “Night on the Sound”

“Night on the Sound” features a keynote speaker to be announced later this year, a cocktail reception, seated dinner with locally sourced foods, live music and a silent auction. The event supports the Port Royal Sound Foundation’s education and research efforts.  Night on the Sound’s keynote speaker in 2015 was Phillippe Cousteau and was sold out its inaugural year.

The Port Royal Sound Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the awareness of the Port Royal Sound. The foundation was formed to support and promote research and educate people about the sound’s environmental, cultural, historical, artistic, recreational and economic contributions.

Polo for Charity Event

Enjoy a Lowcountry afternoon of polo, tailgating, divot stomping, and plenty of fun for the whole family at the 23rd Polo for Charity event on Sunday, October 23 at the Rose Hill Equestrian Center, Bluffton. The gates open at noon and the match starts at 2 p.m. Known as Bluffton’s largest picnic, attendees are encouraged to get creative with their menu as well as their attire. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Okatie with event proceeds to benefit Moss Creek Marines and other local Rotary charities. The First Tee of The Lowcountry Grand Opening

This event celebrates the grand opening of the First Tee of the Lowcountry’s new facility. The facility includes a full size driving range which duels as a 6-hole par 3 course, plus a lake stocked for fishing, and a disc golf course. The community has worked hard for years to bring this organization to the children on Hilton Head Island and our surrounding area. Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is a movement to reclaim the future for millions. Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on October 29th at the Old Town Promenade. Nearly 600 people from the area are expected at this year’s event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease.

Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s participants will complete a 1.5 mile walk and will learn about Alzheimer’s disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical studies enrollment and support programs and services from the Alzheimer’s Association. Walk participants will also join in a meaningful tribute ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

Celebrating the centuries-old love story between man and machine, the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival and Concours d’Elegance is one of Hilton Head Island’s biggest events.  This richly textured event, showcases 500 cars, boats, motorcycles, and aircraft on exhibit the first weekend of November.
