After 23 years of serving Beaufort and Jasper County as a tax and financial planning attorney, Doug Delaney is embarking on a new journey as a licensed REALTOR® with Charter One Realty. He continues his passion for assisting clients by making family dreams come true and sound real estate investments.


Doug brings his clients the benefit of his years of legal experience, financial savvy, and local knowledge. He is well-known for his caring, compassion, and responsiveness, as well as his expertise and fierce loyalty to his clients. After years of raising his family in the Beaufort County school system, he has intimate knowledge of this community, its schools, and gated communities.


When not serving clients, Doug enjoys spending time with his wife, Libby, their combined 7 children, as well as Pip and Stella, their Maltese-Shitzus, masters of the house. He is thrilled his father lives so close in Sun City. His hobbies include traveling, exercising, deep-sea fishing, outdoor activities and meeting new people. While he enjoys golf, he admits to playing a much different course than better golfers. He believes in supporting those less fortunate and has been a contributor to Meals on Wheels, Deep Well, Bluffton Self Help, local churches, and schools.


Born in Lexington, KY, raised in Columbia, SC and Dayton, Ohio, he graduated from the University of Dayton with an accounting degree. After serving as a CPA with US Steel in Pittsburgh and Chicago, he received his law degree from the University of South Carolina. He received high marks in his Masters of Law - Taxation at the University of Florida and worked for a then Big Six accounting firm in real estate tax planning and appeals in Miami and then Charlotte. Moving to the Lowcountry in 1996, this great place took hold of him and he never left.


When he was in the legal industry, he made a reputation for helping his clients “plan ahead.” Doug brings that same zeal and attitude to his real estate team.
