New Businesses Opening in Hilton Head, Bluffton & Beaufort - August 2026

As summer begins to wind down, the Lowcountry business scene shows no signs of slowing down. New businesses, expanded local favorites and fresh concepts are giving residents and visitors even more reasons to shop, explore and spend time close to home.

From paddling the quiet waters of Jarvis Creek to browsing an open-air market in Bluffton, the latest openings reflect much of what makes life in the Lowcountry appealing: locally owned businesses, outdoor recreation, animals, family experiences and a strong sense of community.

For anyone considering Hilton Head real estate, Bluffton real estate or a move elsewhere in the region, these additions are also a reminder that our communities continue to evolve while holding onto the lifestyle that makes the Lowcountry such a desirable place to call home.

Now Open in the Lowcountry

Crooked Creek Kayak Company

104 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island

There is a new way to see Hilton Head Island from the water.

Crooked Creek Kayak Company offers guided tours and self-guided kayak rentals through the quiet tidal waterways of Jarvis Creek. Located next to The Crazy Crab Jarvis Creek, the company provides both private and group excursions designed for paddlers of varying experience levels.

Along the way, guests may encounter dolphins, egrets, turtles and other Lowcountry wildlife while exploring narrow creeks and oyster-lined waterways. It is the sort of tucked-away Hilton Head experience that can make even longtime locals wonder why they haven't explored their own backyard sooner.

Bluffton Farm & Flea

172 Bluffton Road, Bluffton

The former Green Thumb nursery property has a new chapter.

Bluffton Farm & Flea brings together local makers, growers and small businesses in an open-air market setting. The market operates Fridays and Saturdays, weather permitting, at 172 Bluffton Road.

Shoppers can expect a changing lineup of vendors featuring handmade goods, flowers, herbs, vintage finds, local honey, food and other Lowcountry favorites.

It is another welcome addition to Bluffton's growing collection of locally driven shopping experiences and a natural fit for a town that has long embraced independent businesses and community gathering places.

Lawton Stables Small Animal Farm

190 Greenwood Drive, Sea Pines, Hilton Head Island

One of Hilton Head Island's longtime family favorites has received a major update.

Lawton Stables unveiled its newly expanded Small Animal Farm this summer, with improvements designed around both the visitor experience and animal welfare. The facility includes enhanced habitats and more opportunities for families to interact with its resident animals.

Visitors can meet and feed farm animals, while pony rides and horseback trail rides through the Sea Pines Forest Preserve remain part of the Lawton Stables experience. Proceeds from the animal farm help support the feeding and care of its animals.

For families searching for things to do on Hilton Head Island beyond the beach, this one deserves a spot on the list.

Venue on Park Lane

4 Park Lane, Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head Island has a sophisticated new setting for weddings, celebrations and private events.

Venue on Park Lane combines traditional Lowcountry character with contemporary interiors and event spaces. The restored property includes multiple salons and gathering areas, including its Grand Sanctuary, which accommodates events of up to 200 guests.

With soaring ceilings, elegant finishes, indoor gathering spaces and outdoor areas, the venue adds another option for destination weddings, corporate gatherings and special events on Hilton Head Island.

The Revival Room

Tanger 2, Bluffton

After developing a following through local pop-up events, The Revival Room has put down permanent roots at Tanger 2.

The upscale consignment boutique specializes in curated pre-loved clothing, accessories and fashion, giving shoppers an alternative to traditional retail while providing local consignors an opportunity to give beautiful pieces a second life.

The concept fits neatly into a larger shift toward more intentional shopping, where style and sustainability can happily share the same closet.

New Businesses and Attractions Coming to the Lowcountry

And the local business pipeline isn't finished yet.

Big Air

A sizeable new indoor entertainment option is headed to Bluffton.

Big Air is planned for the former Big Lots space, bringing approximately 35,000 square feet of family-focused activities under one roof. Plans include trampolines, ninja-style courses, zip lines, climbing walls, dodgeball courts, toddler areas and other active attractions.

For Bluffton families, particularly during rainy afternoons or the occasionally brutal August heat, an indoor option of this scale should be a welcome addition.

Hoof N Hound

Old Town Bluffton will soon have a shop catering to a particularly important Lowcountry demographic: people whose pets are unquestionably running the household.

Hoof N Hound is planned as a boutique for pets and their people, with specialty pet products, locally made treats, accessories, bath products and coastal-inspired gifts.

The concept should feel right at home in dog-loving Bluffton, where four-legged residents are already regulars on restaurant patios, walking trails and around the shops of Old Town.

Pet Wants at Coligny Plaza

Pet Wants has expanded its Lowcountry presence to one of Hilton Head Island's best-known shopping destinations.

The pet-focused retailer is now listed as open at Coligny Plaza, offering pet food, treats and supplies for dogs and cats. Pet Wants also specializes in nutritional guidance and local delivery.

Its arrival at Coligny adds another pet-oriented retailer within one of the Island's most walkable shopping, dining and entertainment districts.

More Than New Businesses: A Sign of a Growing Lowcountry

Individual openings may seem like small changes, but collectively they tell a larger story about Hilton Head Island and Bluffton.

The Lowcountry continues to attract entrepreneurs, investment and new concepts designed around the people who live here as well as those who visit. Outdoor recreation remains important. Independent retail continues to find an audience. Family and pet-friendly businesses are growing. Existing destinations are reinvesting in their facilities.

Those amenities are also part of the broader lifestyle equation for people researching Hilton Head Homes for Sale or Bluffton Homes for Sale.

Today's buyers aren't simply comparing square footage and bedrooms. They're considering what happens once they walk out the front door. Where can they spend Saturday morning? Can they kayak nearby? Are there places to take the grandchildren? What does the community feel like?

Increasingly, Hilton Head Island and Bluffton have plenty of answers.

Thinking About Making the Lowcountry Home?

Whether you're searching for a primary residence, second home or investment property, understanding the communities surrounding a property can be just as important as understanding the home itself.
