The holiday season is upon us! One of our favorite ways to celebrate is by attending one of the many Palmetto Bluff events that capture Lowcountry holiday spirit. This year’s celebrations and parties are not exactly what we are used to, but perhaps a break from the typical hustle and bustle of December is what we all need. 

For a classic southern escape to remember, check out Montage Palmetto Bluff. There is no place better to unwind and recharge, and they always feature holiday activities that we look forward to. In this article, we cover all the festive fun they have coming up in chronological order! 

 

Nightly Menorah Lighting 

Hanukkah begins Thursday, Dec. 10, and each evening, the Montage Palmetto Bluff Hotel is holding a complimentary lighting ceremony in the Inn Library. Starting Friday, Dec. 11, kick off the relaxing weekend celebrations with “Holiday Porching” in the afternoon. Enjoy cider, hot chocolate, treats, and performances before the Menorah Lighting each evening.

  • When: Thursday, Dec. 10 - 18 at 5:19 pm

Palmetto Bluff Holiday Events for the Family 

Looking for something fun to do with the entire family? These events and activities are sure to make your holiday merry and bright.

Holiday Grace Cruise
Board the 1913 antique yacht for a cruise on the May River with hot chocolate and unparalleled Lowcountry views.

  • When: Sunday, Dec. 20, Wednesday, Dec. 23, Thursday, Dec. 24 at 1:30 and 3:30 each day

  • Where: Grace Dock

  • Reservations required. $60 per guest, $48 per member

 

Family Yoga

Get the family to connect mind and body with a family yoga session the day after Christmas. 

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 26, 8 - 9 am

  • Where: Somerset Chapel

  • Complimentary

 

Discover Longfield

Connect with nature and some horses at the stables. Learn about the equine residents' trails and how to take care of the horses.

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 26, 10 - 11am

  • Longfield Stables Lower Barn

  • Reservations required. $5 per person

Children’s Night Out

If your family is up for it, kids can have a night to themselves watching a movie, dinner, and activities without the parents! Make sure to register your little ones; they are required to attend. 

  • Dates:

    • A Night in Whoville is Friday, Dec. 18 from 6 - 10pm

    • Christmas Carol-aoke (Christmas Karaoke) is Saturday, Dec. 19 from 6 - 10pm

    • Glow Night is Saturday, Dec. 26 from 6 -10pm

  • Where: Paintbox children’s program

  • Reservations required: $70 per guest, $56 per member

 

Polar Express Train Ride

We love seeing the joy on a child’s face when they see a train. Just think of their happiness when you ask your little one if they want to ride the Polar Express through the cottages and back to the Inn.

  • When: Monday, Dec. 21, 5:15 - 9pm 

  • Where: Inn Backyard

  • Complimentary

  • Join movie night at Village Green, 8pm for a showing of the Polar Express

 

Reindeer Games

Kids ages six and older will rotate through target practice games including air rifle, archery, and silly birds slingshot.

  • When: 

    • Thursday, Dec. 17 at 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm

    • Sunday, Dec. 20 at 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm

    • Thursday, Dec. 24 at 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm

    • Sunday, Dec. 27 at 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm

  • Where: Palmetto Bluff Shooting Club

  • Ages 6 and up. Reservations required, $75 per guest, $65 per member

 

Conclusion

If we have learned anything this year, it is that slowing down to focus more on enjoying the little things is really what life is all about. We are ready to celebrate the holidays in the next several weeks and we need to look no further than some of the Montage Palmetto Bluff events like Elves Workshop, Christmas Week Breakfast, and Wine Tastings. In summary, be sure to enjoy these many holiday highlights:

  1. Evening Menorah Lighting celebrations in the library at sundown starting Thursday, Dec. 10.

  2. Sign the kids up for a Children’s Night Out, train rides, reindeer games, and more.

  3. The family can enjoy a nice cruise, movie night, learn about horses, and even enjoy a yoga class together.
