Hilton Head Firecracker Run
Over 1,600 runners and walkers will gather on July 4th at 8:00am at the Shelter Cove Community Park & Shelter Cove Towne Center for the 31st Annual Hilton Head Firecracker Run. An Independence Day tradition, the Firecracker Run is the largest and oldest road race in Beaufort County and one of the top ten races in South Carolina. Participants range from under 8 to over 80 and include many family groups with 15 to 20 family members participating. Fun for the entire family, the fast and flat course runs through Shelter Cove past Broad Creek and finishes at Shelter Cove Community Park. Post race celebration includes live music, a children’s fun run, refreshment, vendors, door prizes and more.

Fourth of July Picnic
Celebrate this Independence Day with the unity of Central Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and Grace Community Church with a free Fourth of July picnic at historic Honey Horn on Hilton Head Island, SC. The event starts at 11am and includes fun for the entire family with bounce houses, a dunk tank, live music, great food and fellowship. Chairs are encouraged but no pets, please.

Annual Skull Creek 4th of July Celebration
Skull Creek hosts its 32nd Annual Fourth of July Celebration with a waterfront fireworks show. This family friendly event takes place at Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks where you’ll find live music, great food and family fun. The fireworks show begins at 9:30pm from a barge set along the Intracoastal Waterway near Hudson’s and Skull Creek Boathouse. Free parking and a shuttle service is available from 6-10pm from the Boys & Girls Club on Gum Tree Road to the parking lot of Hudson’s.

4th of July Parade in Harbour Town
Dress in your red, white and blue and watch the fireworks under Hilton Head Island’s iconic Harbour Town Lighthouse. But it’s not just about the fireworks. This is a full day of scheduled Fourth of July fun and activities including a family friendly/pet friendly parade around the marina. Meet at the parking lot adjacent to the Harbour Town Lighthouse at 8:30am to register and pick up supplies for the parade which starts at 9:30am. After the entries are judged and a winner chosen, stay in the harbour for lunch or bike to the beach but be sure to come back for dinner, live music and a stunning waterfront fireworks show in the evening.

Shelter Cove Marina is another fantastic place to catch the fireworks this 4th of July on Hilton Head Island, SC. SOBA Gallery presents “Local Color” Paintings by Lauren Terrett
The SOBA Gallery in downtown Bluffton welcomes Lauren Terrett as a featured artist from July 5th through July 31st . Lauren’s work is inspired by the vibrant and lush lowcountry settings. Her work is intuitive and impressionistic including the use of thick paint, texturing, charcoal lines and vivid colors that set her paintings apart. 2016 Hilton Head Jazz Camp
Recommended for ages 14-20, the 2016 Hilton Head Jazz Camp is a full day camp held from July 11-16, 2016 from 9am-4pm. A combination of large big bands, small combos, theory, improve, elective courses, master classes and performances will be taught by 14 full-time professionals. The camp is geared towards intermediate to advanced middle and high school students.
