Throughout the year, Hilton Head Island Mayor, David Bennett, presents the Honored Islander Award to a select few Hilton Head Island residents. The award is presented to residents who make a significant sacrifice of their time, talents, and resources to better the community. The recipients of this Hilton Head Island award are judged on the basis of their service to others, professional excellence, civic and professional recognition, and community activities.
