We recently sold our house with Drew Butler. The process was very successful from start to finish. Drew brought the data which made the pricing decision easy, his suggestions to “ready” the house for buyers was effective and not overly complicated. We had early showings and a buyer in several days at full price. Drew and his assistant, Kim Burke, were helpful through the inspection and follow-up. They were great at communications right up through the closing. It is extremely helpful that Drew knows Indigo Run and all the reasons it is the place to be on Hilton Head.
When moving to Beaufort and deciding we wanted to buy instead of continuing to rent, we met Alec. Alec helped us buy our first home and was the best realtor anybody could ask for. It was a home we wanted to keep forever, but upon receiving a job offer on the other side of the country we turned to him once more to help us sell our home. When we began looking in South Carolina for a new home, we only knew we loved the Bluffton/Hilton Head area. We hadn’t yet set our sights on any specific plantation or community. Like most people, we arrived in Bluffton having only looked online at house listings, and had a few we hoped a realtor could show us. In our first meeting with Diana Sroufe, she suggested we first look at the communities to see what felt right, before we look at any houses. After all, it would do us no good to fall in love with a house if it was in a community we didn’t like. She took us on a tour of four or five different communities, until we had firmly settled on Belfair (was it the Oaks? the Belfair Wave? the friendly population? all three?).
Diana listened to all of our chatter that day and learned a lot about our lifestyle, the kind of community we were looking for, what type of house we wanted and all of our different wants and needs. As we went through homes in Belfair, she asked what we liked and didn’t like about each one and she used that information to determine which house to show us next.
On a second trip to the area a couple of weeks later, I was on a mission: I was here to buy a house. I had a timeline, and the pressure was on. Diana showed me everything she had that fit into our guidelines. After looking at quite a few homes, I was able to narrow it down to two. Diana listened as I talked through the potential renovations, the overall condition of each house, what would need to be added or removed. During these conversations Diana’s true expertise shined through as she prompted me to consider things I would never have thought of. For instance, one house faced East, the other West. This turned out to be a key factor in the final decision. In short, Diana helped me crystalize my decision without ever trying to influence it.
I don’t believe I would have chosen the right house had we not had the benefit of Diana’s insights, expertise and experience. Thankfully we did have her along for our ride, and we chose exactly the right home for us: the one facing East.
I want to thank Shelley and Gary Elliott for listing and selling my property. I spent the whole time in my easy chair while they did all the work. The phone calls to sell my furnishings that I was not taking with me. Setting up the mover to come and take my possessions to my new residence. They even contacted the people where I’m going to find out if everything was in place so that there would not be any hiccups. They arranged to have some ladies come in and pack up all my belongings that I was taking with me. Again, I spent my whole time in my easy chair.
The Elliotts are quite the team!!! They work extremely well together and never leave a stone unturned. After selling several homes over 50 years, they, without a doubt, provided the best service of any realtor I have previously used. I would not hesitate to call on them again myself or to recommend them to others.

Duke is by far the best person and most knowledgeable person to guide you through a purchase in the Lowcountry. He helped us pick the right community for our needs, was an expert in the negotiations to get a great deal and didn't stop after we purchased the home. I have been involved in many real estate transactions in my life and have dealt with many realtors over the years. I have to take the time to write this review (I haven’t in the past) because of how terrific Alec [Smith] was from the start to the finish and even the follow up. His local knowledge of waterfront property is impressive to say the least. He got a premium for my home on waterfront and I attribute that to his expertise. Alec helped me with home improvements to maximize the value of my home. Everything from recommendations of contractors to driving over (on his free time) to check on the work being done while I traveled for work. I was beyond grateful to have him working to sell my home. Alec presented me with several ideas to market my home to get the best bang for the buck as well. I was impressed with his outside the box ideas and his commitment to my home. There were times where I wondered how in the world is this guy even making money on my transaction with the effort and time he put forth. My home sold several weeks ago and he has called me several times after the fact to make sure I was happy with how everything went and to see how I was currently doing. Unbelievable! The job was done and closed and he still took the time to see if I was satisfied and if things were going well. I’ve seen that ever before in a Relator. Absolute professional!
