We started a search for Hilton Head properties a few months ago when we were connected to Daniel and Deb Cort. When I spoke to Daniel he listened to exactly what I was looking for and what I wanted to do. He offered up his suggestions as a friend would when helping you to make a decision. My wife and I immediately felt very comfortable with his tremendous knowledge of the Island and the best places to look. He was able to walk us through properties while we were in FL and his attention to detail was amazing as we bought a property without actually walking through it. We were able to do this because of the trust and faith we quickly put in him and his team. When we started the process of the offer and negotiation, his wife Deb took over and her attention to detail and follow up was AMAZING. Again, we were doing this from 4 hours away and needed someone to represent us as they would a family member. That is truly what they have become to us. We then got a number of suggestions from them on handymen and rental agents and they have all been spot on. I cant give enough of a 5 star rating here as I would love to give more. They treated us like family and when you are making a large purchase it can be overwhelming. They truly went the extra mile to do more than asked!
We have had the pleasure of working with Andy Reed on three real estate transactions. We have bought, sold, and bought again with Andy. It took us a couple of years to decide to sell our first house and buy something else. Andy was extremely patient with us. We never felt pressured to do something we weren’t ready to do. His knowledge of the market and experience is vast which helped us in getting top dollar for our home and the best deal we could on our new property. We wandered into Michael Haire’s office unannounced and without any plan to leave California and move to Palmetto Bluff. Fast forward just a few months, and we were back for a “visit”. Michael’s knowledge of the community and his ability to assess and respond to what we liked and didn’t like as we toured homes made the buying experience easy. His dry sense of humor made it fun. With his help, we found the perfect home and closed escrow painlessly, despite doing so long distance. Richard was very helpful with his knowledge of contractors and other service providers on Hilton Head. When we first purchased in 2014 through the sale of home in 2020 we occasionally called him for suggestions. The providers he gave us were always timely and competitive pricewise.

We met Christina when looking at a house she was showing. She had also been recommended by the agent who helped us find our previous home on Hilton Head and was now retired. After falling in love with the home, we asked Christina to look at our existing home and ended up having her list it. She did an excellent job marketing our home and was on site for issues that arose when we were out of town. When a seemingly good offer was made, we accepted and Christina became our battlefield commander as the pending sale turned into a nightmare of frivolous issues from the other party. My wife and I made the decision to move across the country from Arizona to Bluffton I the Spring of 2019. Having a child still in high school made the window for this move quite small. Diana Sroufe made this transition possible and provided us exactly what we needed. We flew into town to look at homes on Easter weekend and Diana was awesome! Not only did she show us what we wanted to see....even though she knew we would not pursue, but gave us insight and ideas as we viewed our first few homes together. Diana listened and immediately came up with additional homes to view based on our criteria.
Can we look at that one again? I am sure this routine can be annoying, but Diana was there to show us listings....and even go back more than a few times.
When we were ready, Diana took charge and our offer was submitted and accepted prior to our arrival in town for the second round of viewings. Diana quickly took action and even had the home inspected while we were in town. As we left, Diana had a complete list of preferred vendors for all of the things we needed and they were all top-notch.

Sanders MacDonald was great! He helped us both buy and sell our homes. He understood what our wants were in finding a house. Went beyond the norm to find out information about houses we were interested in when it was not available in the seller’s disclosure. Sanders followed up consistently through buying and selling process (i.e. lawyers, realtors, inspectors, etc.) to insure no issues. Lastly, Sanders was very personable, easy going and upfront about a house’s pluses and minuses (i.e. artificial stucco vs stucco integrity). To date we have bought and sold 13 houses over the last 40 years. Sanders has been by far the best Realtor we have worked with both on the buy and sell side. We would seek out and work with him again without hesitation.

Whether you are buying or selling, Diana Sroufe is the “go to” realtor in Bluffton and the Lowcountry! In our case, she hit home runs for us on both the buy- and sell-side. Diana successfully sold our first home in Belfair for a premium price and worked with us to negotiate the purchase of another beautiful home in the same community.
