Charter One Realty has announced that Ruth Parris, a native South Carolinian and longtime real estate professional in the Hilton Head Island area, has joined the company as an Agent.
An integral part of the Hilton Head Island/Lowcountry real estate industry for more than four decades, Ruth is an established leader in residential sales. She lives and specializes in Port Royal Plantation, a low-density, private residential oceanfront gated community with 24-hour security, pristine beaches, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, leisure trails, tennis courts, historic sites, and abundant wildlife.
Ruth has been working on Hilton Head Island for nearly as long as it has been attracting visitors. She entered the real estate business as a rental agent in 1974 and has been selling property throughout all areas of Hilton Head Island and Bluffton since 1980. Over the past 42 years, Ruth has sold over one-quarter of a billion dollars in Island real estate and has sold more property in Port Royal Plantation than any other agent.

Born and raised in Columbia, S.C., Ruth received a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Comparative Literature from the University of South Carolina. She began her business career as personal secretary to Allen Funt, producer of the popular TV show “Candid Camera."
