Arriving from Cincinnati to the Low Country in 2000, my husband Jay and I purchased our lot in Belfair. We finished building our home in 2004 and the Hilton Head area became our home. Prior to moving we owned Referral Mortgage based out of Cincinnati. We were also teachers at Princeton High School, a Cincinnati suburb public school. I obtained my real estate license that fall of 2004. We love the Low Country and what it has to offer and cannot imagine living anywhere else. Both of us had lived in the Cincinnati area all of our lives until moving here and found this gem of a place to live where people are so welcoming. Besides golfing, kayaking, boating, going to garage sales and exploring the area, we love shaggin'. For those of you who do not know what "shag" is - it is the dance of the Carolinas. When Diana asked me to write a testimonial of my experience of selling my house with her my remark was “easy peasy”.  She came to me very well prepared with data and comps which she presented in a very cohesive and cogent manner.  She wasn’t into “staging” for which I was grateful.  My home didn’t sell to the first looker so there was some hand holding involved in the process with her reasonable and thorough explanations.  She was present for all showings, and always got back to me with the buyers’ input about the home.> So if you want an organized, informed, smart , and very successful agent Diana’s  the one for you.  She sure was for me.

We were interested in purchasing a home in the Bluffton area and currently live in Pennsylvania. Our list of wants and needs were long and we weren’t sure if we could come close to finding anything in our price range and that checked off a lot of our boxes. When we began looking in South Carolina for a new home, we only knew we loved the Bluffton/Hilton Head area.  We hadn’t yet set our sights on any specific plantation or community.  Like most people, we arrived in Bluffton having only looked online at house listings, and had a few we hoped a realtor could show us.  In our first meeting with Diana Sroufe, she suggested we first look at the communities to see what felt right, before we look at any houses. After all, it would do us no good to fall in love with a house if it was in a community we didn’t like.  She took us on a tour of four or five different communities, until we had firmly settled on Belfair (was it the Oaks? the Belfair Wave? the friendly population? all three?).  Diana listened to all of our chatter that day and learned a lot about our lifestyle, the kind of community we were looking for, what type of house we wanted and all of our different wants and needs.  As we went through homes in Belfair, she asked what we liked and didn’t like about each one and she used that information to determine which house to show us next.   On a second trip to the area a couple of weeks later, I was on a mission: I was here to buy a house.  I had a timeline, and the pressure was on.  Diana showed me everything she had that fit into our guidelines. After looking at quite a few homes, I was able to narrow it down to two.  Diana listened as I talked through the potential renovations, the overall condition of each house, what would need to be added or removed. During these conversations Diana’s true expertise shined through as she prompted me to consider things I would never have thought of. For instance, one house faced East, the other West. This turned out to be a key factor in the final decision. In short, Diana helped me crystalize my decision without ever trying to influence it.    I don’t believe I would have chosen the right house had we not had the benefit of Diana’s insights, expertise and experience.  Thankfully we did have her along for our ride, and we chose exactly the right home for us: the one facing East.

We have known Diana for many years and have found her to be extremely engaged as a realtor on a number of fronts. My husband Chuck and I decided to build a new home at Belfair. Given that the new home was supposed to be completed by the Fall of 2020, we had to select a realtor to sell our existing home at 45 Newberry Court. The decision was a pretty easy one as we had many friends who highly recommended that we use Diana Sroufe. Diana lives at Belfair and knows the real estate market inside and out. She recommended that we put the house on the market in the first quarter of 2020, about 6 months prior to completion of the new home. From the start, Diana worked tirelessly to help us prepare our home for sale and we had quite a bit of interest early on, including a few offers, none of which panned out. Then Covid hit and put an abrupt halt to the all-important spring selling season. Throughout this time, Diana continued to market our home and to provide positive encouragement that with patience our home would sell. As soon as the Fall hit, the real estate market took off with a vengeance. Diana became super busy with many listings, but she still made us feel that our home was the one she had listed. We finally accepted an offer in October and Diana was with us right through closing in November. We have been thrilled with Diana’s knowledge of the real estate industry and her professionalism throughout the real estate transaction process. She is also a fellow golfer and a friend. We can’t imagine using any other realtor to represent us if/when we decide to enter the real estate market in the future.

My wife and I made the decision to move across the country from Arizona to Bluffton I the Spring of 2019.  Having a child still in high school made the window for this move quite small.  Diana Sroufe made this transition possible and provided us exactly what we needed.  We flew into town to look at homes on Easter weekend and Diana was awesome!  Not only did she show us what we wanted to see....even though she knew we would not pursue, but gave us insight and ideas as we viewed our first few homes together.  Diana listened and immediately came up with additional homes to view based on our criteria.
