The golf courses and large homes of Skidaway Island are surrounded by water and marshes. There are trails throughout along rivers and creeks that will show the beautiful forest of Skidaway Island State Park. For those that want to be one with nature, there are ample campsites. Wassaw Wildlife Refuge is also only accessible by boat and is near Skidaway Island and surrounded by other barrier islands. Wildlife such as sea turtles and birds are abundant.

This bird-watching paradise is now welcoming families of all ages. The island has three sections - The Landings, Modena, and South Harbor. The island showcases gorgeous houses and many trails that will lead you to the hub of the town where you will find shopping. For residents’ convenience, there is also a gas station, grocery store, churches, and banks all accessible by foot, car, bikes, and golf carts!
