Restaurants Stepping Up During COVID-19

The Lowcountry community, like every community around the globe, has been affected by COVID-19. In a series of articles, we will be highlighting the amazing people and businesses that have created or enhanced programs to help everyone through this unprecedented time.

In our blog, COVID-19 in the Lowcountry: Organizations Giving Back, we featured the nonprofit organizations dedicated to providing as much stability as possible. In today’s feature, we showcase the local restaurants making it easier than ever to obtain meals while ensuring restaurant employees don’t go hungry either.

Below is a list of restaurants (in alphabetical order) who are offering resources and services during this pandemic. Note that most every eatery is offering to-go curbside pickup (and some offer delivery); this list features businesses going above and beyond!

Bluffton Drive-Thru Market

Located in The Grind Roasters parking lot on Saturdays from 10 am-2 pm, the newly formed “Bluffton Drive-Thru Market” is working to ensure our wonderful farmers market vendors can provide their goods to our community!

Bluffton Farmers MarketLocated at 1 Sherington Drive in Sheraton Park, The Grind Roasters will be serving up their delicious coffees and supporting over 15 other vendors like Sprout Mama, Island MicroGreens, and Underground Burrito, to name a few.

There is no charge to participate; please plan for a 30-45 minute line. In addition to purchasing anything from fresh meat to facemasks, drivers can roll down the windows and listen to live music while waiting.

At first, they began serving via a drive-up operation in front of FISH in Coligny Plaza, but have recently expanded to Bluffton.

On HHI, free meals are available starting at 4 PM every day. In Bluffton, free meal pick up starts at 4:30 PM at The Enclave, an apartment subdivision off of Bluffton Parkway.
