For many years, Hilton Head Island has been known for its great golf and fantastic beaches. Today many people are enjoying Hilton Head as one of the top biking communities in the Southeast. Recently the Town of Hilton Head Island was awarded the Gold Level Bike Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists. Hilton Head Island is the only Gold Level Community in South Carolina as well as all of the Southeast. Within the Town of Hilton Head Island, there are more than 60 miles of public pathways and nature trails that cyclists can enjoy. In addition, there are more than 50 miles of pathways in the Island’s gated communities.
