The date of the $46 million flyover bridge construction project has a new completion date. Engineers plan to have the flyover bridge connecting the Bluffton Parkway to Highway 278 completed by June 30, 2016. After three years of construction, commuters are thrilled to see the project come to an end.

Initially, the bridge was set to be completed in November 2015. Residents and travelers have dealt with the bridge congestion and construction for the past three years. All are excited to see a bit of relief in the near future. Upon its completion, those traveling on the Bluffton Parkway will have direct access to Highway 278 thus relieving congestion and bottlenecking at the Hilton Head Bridge. Travelers hope to see a significant change in their travel times to and from Hilton Head Island.
