Have you heard the good news about Lowcountry Celebration Park Hilton Head? There is no doubt our community loves to get outside and enjoy our endless natural beauty. The Lowcountry offers vast natural landscapes and an opportunity to spot varied wildlife, so a new location to celebrate these gifts is a wonderful addition! Located near Coligny right by the beach, this new park is just what we need.

From workout stations, sunset sculptures, event space, and massive play space, everyone will find something to enjoy. The WiFi and parking are set up and ready to go. Now that the park is open, we’re looking forward to family walks, bike rides, and maybe even a summer picnic or two. Check out what to expect from the brand new park!

Adventure Playground - The Ship

If you have children in your life, you must spend an afternoon at one of the coolest playgrounds in town. The ship was constructed in celebration of the explorer Captain William Hilton who named Hilton Head Island. In celebration of the Lowcountry and his ship The Adventure, builders took three months to make a giant, custom ship as the center of attention on the playground. The sails and decking set the perfect scene for kids to “sail the ocean” and create fun memories as their imaginations run wild at this seaside park. There are endless activities for the kids to enjoy on and around the ship. Pack some snacks and settle in because the kids are never going to want to leave.

Discovery Trail

Inside the playground, kids and families can walk the discovery trail and learn about the environments natural to our community. Kids will have fun at the mini beach and splash around in the water features, especially during the hot summer.

There is even a green turtle section dedicated to educating folks about this precious wildlife species found on the island. Locals and visitors can learn what nest markings to look for on the beach making them easy to identify so we can leave the turtle nests undisturbed.

Always keeping the environment and animals in mind, the playground was designed to be fun for all! Kids and adults can join the hunt in the search for native Hilton Head Island animal tracks in the concrete!

Art for Everyone

We admire art in our daily lives, and it is so special when an artist shares their work with the community. Take in the beauty of the park’s sunset sculptures that celebrate our local community and outdoor lifestyle.

New art installations and gorgeous real-life skyscapes make taking a stroll a must-do part of your visit to the park as you enjoy the great outdoors at Celebration Park Hilton Head.

Future Plans

Events

In the future when events are plentiful, the 10-acre site has an open lawn and will be the location of events like Hilton Head Island Wine & Food Festival, The Gullah Festival, and St. Patrick’s Parade.

The Sandbox Children's Museum

The new museum was built to help expand children's’ minds. Learning is more fun in our community because of the focus on our natural environment. Rain or shine, the museum is a place for kids to learn and grow. The building was constructed with “green aspects” in mind and is set to earn a LEED Gold Certification.
