Charter One Realty, the top producing real estate company on Hilton Head Island and throughout the surrounding Lowcountry, is proud to have donated $30,000 over the past two years to Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) Hilton Head. The $30,000 donation was used to help VIM orchestrate the organization’s three largest and most important fundraisers each year, with Charter One Realty serving as the Diamond Presenting Sponsor for all three events, and VIM’s top corporate donor.

The Charter One Realty – VIM partnership began in 2015 with the presentation of a check for $15,000 to the local organization. Representatives of Charter One Realty presented the second check for an additional $15,000 to VIM prior to the “Circle of Caring” Gala held on December 3^rd, 2016 at the Hilton Head Island Westin Resort and Spa.

Volunteers in Medicine HHI, a non-profit 501(c)(3), provides free comprehensive medical and dental health care to patients who cannot afford these services, and who qualify for care at VIM. Volunteer caregivers give freely of their time and talent to touch the lives of thousands – whether patients are facing an urgent need, a devastating disease or seeking to improve the quality of their life. Patients receive the care that they need in a warm and welcoming environment, and many of them, in turn, give back, in response to the compassionate care that they have received. Over three-quarters of VIM’s patients are employed in local businesses that support the HHI tourism industry. The organization relies on donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations, and neither seeks nor accepts government funding. VIM, which has a budget of $2,000,000, provides over $12,000,000 in services – and is the model for other medical clinics around the country. There are now approximately 97 medical clinics around the country based on the VIM Hilton Head model.
