That’s how I answered when one of my clients asked me if I wanted to appear in a few episodes of HGTV network’s new series, Island Life. How could I pass up such a unique opportunity to put a spotlight on on our beautiful Hilton Head Island and all of its great real estate opportunities? After all, that’s our job as Realtors® isn’t it?

The show is kind of a real estate “reality show.” Each episode chronicles a different family’s search for the perfect home as they take the leap that so many of us took when making the lifestyle decision to relocate to a sun-splashed island by the sea.

The stories are all true and the clients are all real, not actors. The real estate agents are all real as well, which is kind of unfortunate because I was hoping they would get Brad Pitt to play me!!

Seriously, though, it was a fascinating experience to see what it takes to produce a tv show. If you’ve never worked in that business you’d be amazed at the enormous number of people it takes, working hundreds and hundreds of hours, just to get a few minutes of usable footage. I truly admire those folks. You can click here to see some behind-the-scenes photos on my Facebook page.
