RBC Heritage Named a Premier Signature Event for 2024 FedExCup Season

In an announcement on August 7th, 2023, the PGA Tour set the stage for an exciting 2024 FedExCup Season, unveiling a lineup of eight highly anticipated Signature Events. In the announcement, the RBC Heritage secured a spot as one of only eight signature events on the esteemed PGA Tour.

The 2024 FedExCup Regular Season, encompassing a total of 36 events, will kick off in January with the "Opening Drive" at The Sentry and the Sony Open in Hawaii. All players will commence with a clean slate of zero FedExCup points, vying to establish a formidable position in the race for the FedExCup. As the Regular Season unfolds, the grand finale will be the Wyndham Championship, marking the point where a mere 70 players advance to the FedExCup Playoffs. Throughout the Regular Season's journey, a stellar lineup awaits, comprising notable occurrences like the 50th edition of THE PLAYERS Championship, the four Majors, eight Signature Events (referred to as "Designated events" in the preceding year), 18 Full-Field Events, and five Additional Events.

A highlight of the 2024 calendar, the eight Signature Events, characterized by their limited-field format, enhanced prize money, and substantial FedExCup points (bestowing a remarkable 700 points to the victor), are as follows:

  • The Sentry (January 1-7)
  • AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (January 29-February 4)
  • The Genesis Invitational (February 12-18)
  • Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard (March 4-10)
  • RBC Heritage (April 15-21)
  • Wells Fargo Championship (May 6-12)
  • the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday (June 3-9)
  • Travelers Championship (June 17-23)

Particularly, the RBC Heritage, hosted at the Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, takes center stage as one of the PGA Tour's premier events. Distinguished with the title of a signature event, the RBC Heritage is set to embrace several enhancements. No longer restricted by the 36-hole cut, players will engage in uninterrupted play. Moreover, there's an increase in prize money and an augmented allocation of FedExCup points. The event also stands out for its exclusive, select field.

Steve Wilmot, the tournament director of the RBC Heritage, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "That just guarantees you’re going to see the best of the best playing one of the premier iconic golf courses in the world in April every year."

Mark your calendars for the highly anticipated 2024 RBC Heritage, scheduled to unfold from April 15th to 21st at the Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island. The stage is set for a showcase of golfing excellence and camaraderie, as the PGA Tour continues to push boundaries and redefine the world of competitive golf.
