For bird lovers, Hilton Head is a migration point for many kinds of birds. Rare birds such as the Yellow Breasted Chat, Blue-Winged, Blackburnian, Chestnut-Sided, Bay-Sided, Canada and Tennessee Warblers have been sighted on the Island. The Hilton Head Audubon Society has tracked more than 25 kinds of Warblers both rare and uncommon.
For tennis and golf enthusiasts – whether vacationers or full-time residents -- there is truly no place like Hilton Head Island. Hilton Head is home to eight of the world’s top 100 tennis resorts and camps. Tennis lovers can play against a majestic and luscious backdrop of grand old oaks and beautiful sandy beaches, and with more than 800 courts to choose from, tennis is a way of life here on Hilton Head Island. As most people know, Hilton Head Island is also a golf-lovers paradise. Since 1961, Hilton Head has been home to more than 30 golf courses and a bucket list must for golfers of all levels. Sea Pines is of course home to the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament – one of the world’s top golf tournaments and South Carolina’s only PGA Tour Golf Tournament.
After a day of tennis, biking, golf and the beach, take in a sunset abundant with shades of red, orange, yellow and violet. There are several places to enjoy this magnificent picture unfold before your eyes. One of our favorites is to head back to one of our 13 miles of beach, listening to the sounds of the waves break on the shoreline as another day ends unfolds on our beautiful Island.
