Hilton Head Island 4th of July Events

Exercise with the Family  
Run for freedom at the 35th Annual Hilton Head Firecracker 5K. Bring the family for a run/walk at 8 am to Jarvis Creek Park for a burst of exercise before a fun afternoon and evening fireworks. Fun fact: it’s the largest and oldest road race in Beaufort County!

    • Location: Sunday, July 4th at 8:00 am from Jarvis Creek Park on Hilton Head Island

    • Cost: Firecracker 5K $35; Children’s Fun Run $15

Fireworks at Shelter Cove

Independence Day wouldn’t be the same without fireworks. Head to Shelter Cove for the 9 -10 pm fireworks show on Sunday, July 4, guaranteed to live up to expectations. Good news: if you are traveling or miss the holiday show, there are additional fireworks shows on Tuesdays throughout July and August. 

 

Bluffton July 4th Events

CrossFit 843 Independence Day 5K

CrossFit 843 and Palmetto Running Company present the Independence Day 5K. Post-race celebrations include food trucks, river dog brewery, keg toss, and inflatables! Fun for the whole family. The Independence Day 5k starts at 8:00 AM at Oyster Factory Park in historic Old Town Bluffton. Learn more here!

Salute from the Shore

Show the armed services your support at Salute from the Shore! The 12th Annual Salute from the Shores is at 1 pm on July 4th. Visitors and locals head to the South Carolina coast wearing red, white, and blue and watch the flyover from the beach, and are encouraged to take photos and videos of the event. The flyover covers Cherry Grove to Bluffton.

Beaufort July 4th Events

Independence Day Celebration at Sands Beach

Enjoy awesome fireworks, food, family, and fun in Port Royal. The streets will be shut down for a festival during the day, culminating in a huge fireworks display after sundown at Sands Beach.

  • The Road to the Sands landing will be shut down effective midnight prior to the 4th of July for all traffic including trailered boats. 

  • 7th Street will also be closed to all traffic except for residents that live on that street. Food and beverage will be available beginning at noon. 

  • Parking on Paris Avenue and side streets will be free to the public. 

  • Handicap parking will be available and directed to by Town police officers.

Charleston July 4th Events

Fireworks at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum

If you’re searching for a fireworks show, maybe you haven’t seen one in a while. You’re in luck if you haven’t seen a fireworks show in a while: the Patriots Point 4th of July Fireworks Blast is ready to put on an outstanding show! 

The museum is open 9 am, the last tickets sold at 3:30 pm. 

  • Party begins at 6 pm, including live music. Fireworks begin after sunset, about 9-9:15 pm.

  • No-cost entry

  • All-day parking: $20 per vehicle

    • Guests are welcome to ride a bike to the celebration, limited bike parking. 

    • Strollers are permitted

    • No animals are permitted, except service animals

  • New this year: celebration will be along the shore, no ticketed USS Yorktown Flight Deck option. 

Festival in North Charleston

Get ready for a Fourth of July Festival by the water in North Charleston! Bring lawn chairs and blankets for an outdoor celebration in Riverfront Park. 

  • Free parking (park opens at 5 pm)

  • Food trucks and game stations

  • Fireworks begin at dark and the festival concludes at 10 pm

Fourth of July is the quintessential peak of summer vacation, and we love that we get to live where others vacation. The Lowcountry is a wonderful place to spend time in the summer with so many activities in or around our beautiful waterways. 

This Independence Day, embrace summer heat with can’t-miss fireworks shows or hang out in the beautiful Lowcountry scenery for an idyllic summer day. There is a celebration for everyone to enjoy!
