Rachmaninoff Symphony No. 2 Concert

Farmers Market of Bluffton

Where: Martin Family Park, 68 Boundary Street, Bluffton
Thursdays are market day in Bluffton’s historic Old Town. Each week, Martin Family Park comes alive as the Farmers Market of Bluffton hosts local farmers, chefs, and artisans under the oaks. Shop for just-harvested produce, local honey, fresh seafood, homemade jams and salsas, baked goods, and Lowcountry crafts. Bluffton Rotary Annual Oyster Roast

On the festival weekend (Saturday and Sunday in mid-January), Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park fills with fresh oyster stands, food vendors, live music, and family activities, all under the beautiful backdrop of the Beaufort River. Slurp down clusters of local oysters – raw, steamed, fried, you name it – while enjoying coastal breezes and live entertainment. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade

The City of Beaufort honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy each year with a joyous and inclusive community parade through the heart of downtown. The annual MLK Day Parade kicks off at 10am on the holiday Monday, with participants lining up near Beaufort’s National Cemetery and the historic district. The procession typically follows the traditional route: starting on Boundary Street in Uptown Beaufort, then winding along Carteret Street and Bay Street by the waterfront, and ending around Bladen Street. Expect high school marching bands, community and church groups, festive floats, and citizens of all ages coming together to celebrate unity and progress. Beaufort’s MLK Parade is an uplifting event where locals proudly display messages of equality, service, and remembrance. Start the year with a splash – literally! The 26th Annual Tybee Island Polar Plunge invites the bold (and maybe slightly crazy) to charge into the chilly Atlantic Ocean on New Year’s Day. This wildly popular tradition brings together thousands of locals and visitors for a celebratory dunk in the sea. Festivities begin mid-morning with the whimsical “Gang of Goofs” costume contest and parade on the beach (prizes for the zaniest group costumes). Then at the stroke of noon, the crowd rushes into the winter waters en masse for an invigorating plunge! It’s cold, it’s crazy, and it’s a ton of fun. The Polar Plunge is truly the perfect way for the entire family to kick off the New Year – with laughter, shrieks, and unforgettable memories in the making. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade – Savannah
