Charter One Realty: Describe your business in one sentence.

Jenna Kooi: My business is centered on helping families find the right Lowcountry home where they can build memories, put down roots, and truly feel at home.

Charter One Realty: What’s the most rewarding part of your job as a real estate agent?

Jenna Kooi: Seeing everything come together. For buyers, it’s that moment when a home just clicks. For sellers, it’s making the call that their home is under contract and knowing their goals have been met.

Charter One Realty: What specific challenges are you currently seeing in your line of work—and how do you overcome them?

Jenna Kooi: One of the biggest challenges is helping buyers understand the Buyer Agency Agreement and feel comfortable with it. Education is key. I walk clients through the document so they understand it’s designed to protect everyone involved and support a smooth, confident home-buying process.

Charter One Realty: Do you have any specialized or local knowledge that benefits your clients?

Jenna Kooi: I’ve lived in the Hilton Head and Bluffton area for about 15 years, both part-time and full-time, and in several of the most sought-after communities. That firsthand experience allows me to offer real insight into daily life, neighborhoods, and what makes each area unique.

Charter One Realty: Do you have a real estate superpower?

Jenna Kooi: Listening. I take the time to truly understand my clients so they feel comfortable, heard, and confident as we navigate the buying or selling process together.

Charter One Realty: If you could design your dream home, what must-have features would it include?

Jenna Kooi: A beautiful, functional kitchen, a lap pool, a spacious primary suite with a great closet, a home gym, and absolutely a screened porch. In the Lowcountry, that’s non-negotiable.

Charter One Realty: Where are you from originally, and what brought you to the Lowcountry?

Jenna Kooi: I’m originally from New Jersey and spent over 15 years in Indiana. After falling in love with Hilton Head Island on a family vacation years ago, I knew this is where I wanted to live. Now, that dream is our family’s reality.

Charter One Realty: What’s your favorite local restaurant and go-to order?

Jenna Kooi: Okko. We always share rolls. The Big Mac, Cowboy, and Range Rover are must-orders.

Charter One Realty: What are your favorite aspects of life in the Lowcountry?

Jenna Kooi: Living so close to the beach. Even from Bluffton, it’s an easy drive. My daughter has an October birthday, and celebrating at the beach that time of year is pretty hard to beat.

Charter One Realty: If you could instantly become an expert in any skill, what would it be?

Jenna Kooi: Golf. My husband and kids are all excellent golfers, and I’d love to keep up in family matches. Until then, I enjoy walking the courses, getting my steps in, and soaking up some of the best golf scenery in the Lowcountry.

Charter One Realty: What’s your favorite way to spend a Sunday in the Lowcountry?

Jenna Kooi: A long neighborhood walk with my husband and dogs, church with the family, a Starbucks run, and settling in to watch football.
