The Shops at Sea Pines Center offers a farmers’ market featuring Lowcountry Produce, crafts, artwork, food, plants, jewelry, and fashions every week. The Farmers’ Market will be held every Tuesday from 10 am - 2pm.

Side by Side, Art Exhibit by Painter Pepi McNair and Photographer Bill Bosley

Enliven your spirit and enrich your soul with the artwork of two Lowcountry neighbors Side by Side. Pepi McNair, a painter, and Bill Bosley, a photographer, are passionate about the beauty of the Lowcountry and express that passion through their work.

Fiber Artists of Beaufort Sixty Annual Show and Sale

The Fiber Artists of Beaufort (FAB) will be holding their sixth annual show at the SOBA Center for the Creative Arts in Bluffton, SC. The show will be available to the public, free of charge from Tuesday, October 31 thru Sunday, November 5. The hours are 10:00AM to 5:00PM Monday thru Saturday with a reception open to the public on Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00PM. Sunday hours are 11:00AM-2:30PM.

Three candidates – Fred Hamilton, Ted Huffman, and Larry Toomer – are running for the two open spots on the Bluffton Town Council will participate in a Candidate Forum. Each candidate will be asked the same series of questions. A limited number of questions will be accepted from the audience. The forum will be moderated. Members that live and/or work in the Town are encouraged to attend.

The election is Tuesday, November 7.

An Evening with Masterpieces

The Beaufort County Land Trust, in conjunction with filmmaker Michael Miner, presents a screening of Miner’s latest Frank Lloyd Wright documentary on Saturday, November 4th, 6 PM at the Technical College of the Low Country (921 Ribaut Road, Beaufort, SC 29902).

“Masterpieces” is a magnificent journey to 5 of Frank Lloyd Wright’s finest buildings, including such famed structures as the Dana-Thomas house, and the Johnson Wax administration building, plus lesser known gems like Cedar Rock, and the rarely seen Auldbrass plantation.

Evolutyion Big Band Concert

This is the inaugural concert of the Evolution Big Band (formerly the Stardust Orchestra). The band was founded in 2004 as an all-volunteer organization whose mission is to keep big band music alive while raising money for charitable causes. The band recently changed its name to the Evolution Big Band to better reflect the evolving nature of the big band music we play. This concert, the proceeds from which will go to our charity of choice, the Wounded Warriors Regiment of the U.S. Marine Corps in Quantico, VA, will feature contemporary instrumental and vocal renditions of big band favorites made popular by Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Nat “King” Cole, Michael Buble’ (among others) that are sure to please local music audiences of all ages. Vocals will be provided by Michael Schwartzkopf and Miss Penney Lynn Smith.

As seen on HGTV, here is your chance to see what the tiny house movement is all about on November 4th & 5th! Tenth Annual “Taste of Wadell”

Culinary creations by Hudson’s Seafood House, the South Carolina Aquarium’s “Good Catch” sustainable seafood program and Lowcountry Boil Bluegrass Band. The event includes a Raffle and Silent Auction. Tickets are $30 per person with beer, wine and oysters extra. SOBA Presents 12x12 Show

The Society of Bluffton Artists present its annual fall 12 x 12 Show. It’s a unique, interesting and challenging member exhibition in which each member may submit two 12 x 12-inch canvases. Each 12 x 12 is priced the same, $120 — in time for holiday art shopping. The art is the perfect size for groupings. It will fit in small spaces and is very easily shipped. The 12 x 12 artwork will be on display from November 6th to Dec 3rd at the gallery on Church Street in Old Town Bluffton. This show also serves as an important fundraiser for SoBA. The artists traditionally share a large portion of their commission with the gallery from this exhibition.

Hilton Head Island Oyster Festival

Hilton Head Oyster Festival will kick off the weekend with Oyster Festival Party on Friday, November 10th from 5-8pm.  Guests will delight in a coastal cuisine of local oysters, lowcountry boil, barbecue and sip on specialty cocktails and brews.   Snag an early wine pull number, roast marshmallows on the fire pit.  Enjoy live music with Matt Mackelcan under the pavilion while catching the best sunset views on the island!

Saturday’s festivities will begin at 11:00 a.m.  The festival highlights steamed, fried and stewed oysters along with other delicious food for non-oyster eaters!  There will be live entertainment from local bands including local favorites The Nice Guys, Deas Guys & OCD Band, kid’s zone, shop the local artisan shopping area, take a gamble at the wine pull and check out some college football at the TV viewing area.

All proceeds from this event will go to our children’s scholarship fund, which helps provide financial aid to families in need.  The fund ensures that every child is able to participate in our summer camps, sports leagues, swimming lessons and other recreational and child care activities to keep them healthy, fit and active.  

 

18th Annual Memory Matters Golf Tournament

Golfers count the Memory Matters’ annual golf tourney as a must-play day. More than 125 golfers enjoy a bountiful breakfast, then they test their skills on the challenging Moss Creek Golf Course. A light lunch and lively auction – with a noted volunteer auctioneer – round out the 18th Annual day of fellowship.

Bluffton Veterans Day Parade

American Legion Dennis J. Becker Post 205, Bluffton, S.C. cordially invites you and the members of your family or organization, to attend the Veterans Day Parade. The Parade will be held on Friday, November 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

The Parade route will be Alljoy Rd to Calhoun St. Thru Promenade Street ending at Dr. Mellichamp Drive. All units are requested to please line up on Pritchard Street by 9:00 a.m. The Veterans Day Grand Marshall will be Sgt Major Tom (Santa) Story. In the event of inclement weather, the Parade will be canceled.

Hilton Head Island Bridge Run

The 26th Anniversary of the Hargray Hilton Head Island Bridge Run 10K and 5K is Saturday, November 11th, at 8:00am.  The race will start and finish at Crossings Park and take participants over the Broad Creek on the Cross Island Bridge. 

All participants will receive a colorful Hargray Hilton Head Island Bridge Run T-shirt.  The post-race party and award ceremony will feature refreshments, music, and door prizes. Both the 10K & 5K races will offer Overall and Age Group awards in five-year increments for male and female divisions.

Society of Bluffton Artists Holiday Boutique

Artists of the Society of Bluffton Artists (SoBA) are preparing their creative wares for the Fifth Annual Holiday Boutique, scheduled for November 14th-December 22nd at the gallery’s Center for Creative Arts building next door.

The boutique offers the community a unique place to shop for the holidays from local artists with a variety of creative items to choose from — including jewelry, cards, holiday decorations, small paintings, floral arrangements and fiber art. Prices range from $15 to $350.

Taste of the Season

The much-loved annual celebration of the Lowcountry’s culinary specialties returns to kick off the holiday season – but this time it’s in the fresh evening air. Join us under the stars for Taste of the Season on the tented greens of the Country Club of Hilton Head. The venue recently underwent a $5 million renovation to its clubhouse and grounds, including tripling the size of its driving range.

Italian Heritage Festival

Back for an eighth year of celebrating rich, colorful, Italian culture and cuisine, is the annual Festival honoring the Feast of San Gennaro.  As in years past, food booths will line Honey Horn’s pathways with local restaurants serving up portions of their signature dishes.  Cooking demonstrations are scheduled throughout the afternoon.  Volunteers will prepare traditional Italian dessert favorites like cannoli and zeppole.  There will also be educational booths such as an ancestry expert, Italian arts and crafts and merchandise.  There will be an inflatable kid’s zone with face painting and train rides.  Italians treat their communities as family and this festival is a true family affair with something to please everyone.

Harbour Town Lights

Enjoy the lights! Stroll along the Harbour and enjoy the illuminated seasonal figures, with the centerpiece of the display being a towering Christmas tree. Harbour Town is the perfect place to be this holiday season with live entertainment and activities. The official tree lighting will take place just prior to the Gregg Russell Concert on Friday, November 24 at 7:30pm. Make a difference. While you’re enjoying the holiday season, you can help Deep Well make a difference in someone else’s life. Community Christmas Tree Lighting

Santa, Mrs. Claus and their trusty reindeer Rudolph will help kick off the holiday season at the Town’s official Christmas Tree Lighting on the Arts Center festival grounds.  It’s an old-fashioned Yuletide celebration complete with Christmas carols, holiday crafts, yummy treats and a musical performance from the cast of “Newsies.” Look for our Holly Day Art Market and start your holiday shopping early while supporting local artists who will be onsite with jewelry, art, crafts, Christmas treasures and more!  Activities for children include face painting, holiday crafts and photo opportunities with Santa. Hot chocolate, coffee, BBQ and other treats will be available to help keep patrons warm. This family-friendly community festival is an Island tradition!
