School is out and summer is finally here! Need some fun plans for summer break? The Island Recreation Center will be hosting a series of sporting activities and events for children and teenagers. This is a great opportunity for your kids to stay active while having a great time. The Coastal Discovery Museum is also offering a series of interactive and educational programs. Here is a list of various art, education, theater, and sports activities your kids can engage in this summer.

Hilton Head Kids Camps

 

Blue Crab Discovery

Enjoy Tuesdays and Thursdays at Jarvis Creek catching crabs. Not only will participants learn how to catch and pick crabs properly, but they will also learn the life cycle and importance of blue crabs. Participants must be ages 4-12; adults are also welcome. Reservations can be made by calling 843-689-6767 ext. 223.

Hip Hop

Bust out your moves this summer and join Hip Hop summer camp. Dancers will get to show their moves while learning the basics of hip hop and performing in two dances at the end of the session. Participants must be ages 3-11.

Ballet

Grab your ballet slippers and come out to this summer camp offering pre-ballet and elementary ballet. Kids will learn the fundamentals of ballet and perform two combination dances at the end of the session. Participants must be ages 3-11.

Fast Lane Track Club

Here is an opportunity for youth runners to participate in a track and field summer session. Meets will be held in South Carolina and Georgia. Participants must be ages 6-18.

Summer Tennis I, II

Youth Tennis offers this back-tennis instruction program for children want to learn how to play tennis and have fun at the same time. Smaller equipment, such as racquets and balls, are provided for younger participants. Kids will be able to interact with others in group activities, games, and exercises.

Create with Clay Summer Camp

Create your own clay masterpiece this summer at IDEA Studio. Kids will get to learn hand building and shaping techniques while applying them to their works of art. Students will also get to experience throwing on a potter wheel at the end of the week. Participants must be in grades 1st-8th.

Create with Clay

Get ready to use your hands and dig into clay as you create your own unique masterpiece. Participants will get to experience and learn the various techniques professional clay artists use. Pole Vaulting

Jump into pole vaulting this summer with professional pole vaulting coach, Zoe Wade. Pole vaulters of all skills levels can enroll in this summer camp. Kids will engage in plyometrics, pole drills, and speed and strength training. Don’t forget a pair of running shoes and athletic gear. Participants must be ages 13-18.

Week of Champions

A week of fun favorites for athletes to enjoy this summer. Week of Champions, a non-profit volunteer organization, is hosting their 39th-year summer camp program. The program is free of charge and participants will also receive a free t-shirt. Participants will get to choose from various sports including cheer, football, soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, and golf. Sporting equipment will also be provided. Participants must be ages 8-12.

Experience the beautiful coastal waters Hilton Head has to offer through an Intro to Sailing program. Licensed Coast Guard instructor, Tom Doyle, will guide kids through this incredible journey of the fundamentals of sailing and teamwork. Score, Sports Camp: One Remarkable Event

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics make up the curriculum areas for STEAM camp. Spend a week learning about the fascinating concepts of motion, forces, vibrations, and much more. Students will get to create projects of their own by creating machines and working with a “robot” that draws kinetic sculptures and paintings. Participants must be ages 9-14.
