1. Clean and Remove Clutter

Getting rid of excess "stuff" and furniture can make your home appear bigger and more open. This includes wiping down and clearing desk, kitchen, dresser, and bathroom counters. If you have carpet throughout the house, a good steam clean will leave your carpet looking fresh and new. Make sure windows, floors, and counters are sparkling clean and don’t forget to dust those pesky dark corners of your home.

2. Furniture Placement

Re-arrange and play around with the furniture in rooms to figure out the best way to maximize the space. Remember, the trick to making your house appear bigger by using space hacks. Symmetrical arrangements have proven to work well in the living room. Pairing chairs with the sofa across from them is a great example of utilizing this design tip and keeps the traffic flow of the room present.  

3. Go with Neutrals

When it comes to staging your home, you want to stray away from bold colors because buyers will find it harder to pair and match their furniture with those colors. When people are house hunting, they need to be able to see themselves in that home. Potential buyers don’t want to have to worry about paying for additional painting costs, so your best bet is to keep it safe with cool and warm neutrals.
