Boom! Fireworks are one of the first things that come to mind when someone mentions the Fourth of July Holiday. From Hilton Head to Beaufort, we've listed the best spots to enjoy the captivating lights and booming aerial explosions this 4th of July. Take a look at our guide; we know you will love it!

Salute from the Shore

Salute from the shore will begin at the North Carolina/South Carolina border this year at 1 p.m. and will make its way down the coastline. It will be viewable all along the South Carolina coast. For Hilton Head Island-Bluffton areas, the F-16s will be visible at 1:31 p.m., and the C-17 will be visible at 1:48 p.m. Beaufort residents will be able to spot the F-16s at 1:35 p.m., and the C-17 will be visible at 1:54 p.m.

When: Starting at 1 p.m.

Where: North Carolina/South Carolina Coastline

Forbes.com recently named Hilton Head Island as one of the top spots in the country to spend the July 4th weekend and we couldn’t agree more. It’s one of the busiest weekends of the year in the Lowcountry and we look forward to our skies filled with the sound of freedom this week. 

Shelter Cove Fireworks

What’s better than HarbourFest? Well, we’re having a hard time coming up with an answer! Enjoy the Shelter Cove fireworks display and much more this July 4th.

When: Fireworks begin at dusk

Where: Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina

What: On Monday, Shannon Tanner will be throwing a special patriotic family show at 6:30 and 8 p.m. as well as children’s activities with Cappy the Clown from 6 – 9 p.m. that includes face painting, balloon animals, sand art, glitter tattoos, and a variety of interactive games and activities. Fireworks over the marina start after 9 p.m. when the sky gets dark.

Locals know Fireworks serve as the centerpiece for Harbourfest. Can’t make it here on July 4th? This year's 2019 fireworks schedule includes many other dates. Please remember that all fireworks are weather dependent.

Harbour Town and the Calibogue Sound Fireworks

Our list of the best places to see Hilton Head Island 4th of July fireworks wouldn’t be complete without featuring Harbour Town! Located in Sea Pines Plantation, this iconic spot offers much more than just a fireworks show.

When: Fireworks begin at dusk

Where: Harbour Town

What: This event is open to the public with a $6 gate fee for entry into the Sea Pines Resort. It’s sure to be an evening of July 4th fun! From live music, children’s activities, and more, Harbour Town always puts on a great event. The fireworks will be launched from a barge anchored in Calibogue Sound.

Waterfront dining options in Harbour Town include Harbourside Cafe and The Quarterdeck. These Hilton Head Island restaurants offer great food and drinks and probably the best seats for viewing the fireworks in Harbour Town.

Please refrain from bringing in outside food and drink (no coolers).

 

Bluffton Fireworks

The Town of Bluffton is hosting its inaugural Independence Day Celebration, July 2, 2022. The celebration will begin with a pre-party at Martin Family and DuBois Parks and the firework show will begin shortly after 9:00 p.m. 

When: Fireworks begin at dusk, around 9:00 PM

Where: Martin Family Park

What: 

• Pre-Party: The pre-party will be located at Martin Family and DuBois Parks, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Lowcountry Boil Bluegrass Band will be the musical talent. Jevon Daly, the lead singer, will also provide a 45-minute special program asking kids to perform with him. This will happen between the band’s music sets.

• Carnaval, interactive games: Games, such as an inflatable axe and score-a-basketball-hoop, will be available at Martin Family Park. Children will receive a patriotic-themed prize at each game station, while supplies last.

• Concessions: Food and drinks, such as hotdogs, pretzels, snow cones and lemonade, will also be available from a vendor at Martin Family Park.

• Rock wall, Bungee Jump Station & Bounce Houses: These stations will be located throughout and between Martin Family & DuBois Parks.

• Fireworks: The firework display will begin around 9 p.m. The fireworks will be launched from a barge in the May River therefore, the show can be viewed from Oyster Factory and Wright Family Parks.

Port Royal Fireworks

Beaufort 4th of July fireworks are coming to you courtesy of The Town of Port Royal at The Sands! This event is held every year and always promises to light up the night. Perhaps the best part is that this event is located right across Battery Creek from Parris Island! That means you can stay closer to home but catch both firework displays.

When: 4th of July celebrations begin at 12 p.m.

Where: The Sands at Port Royal

What: Get the party started as early as 12 PM! Featuring both live music and food, The Sands is ready to rock. They will have food trucks bringing you lots of delicious Lowcountry food and drink to make your 4th of July in Beaufort a blast.

  • Food Vendors: Boy Scouts will be serving their Hot Dogs and Burgers, As well as 13 Scoops selling Ice Cream. Inside the Community Garden there will be Fly Pies, Time To Eat and a Taco Truck.
  • Music: Austin Williams 2pm - 4pm (Community Beer Garden Stage)
  • Esquires 4pm - 6pm - Main Stage
  • Campfire Tyler 6pm - 8pm (Community Beer Garden Stage)
  • Marine Corps Rock Band 8pm till - Main Stage

 

Please leave your sweet pets at home; remember the fireworks are scary to them. There are no pets allowed at this event (with the exception of service animals). The organizers also ask that you leave coolers at home.


The awesome fireworks in Port Royal are produced by East Coast Pyrotechnics and you can be sure it’s a fantastic show!
