An Evening of Appreciation and Excellence at Berkeley Hall

There are events that fill a calendar, and then there are evenings that actually matter. Last night’s Member Appreciation Reception, hosted by the Hilton Head Area Association of Realtors at Berkeley Hall Golf Club, firmly fell into the latter category.
The evening was a celebration of professionalism, service, and the people who continue to elevate real estate across Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, and Beaufort. It was equal parts recognition and reconnection. No speeches for the sake of speeches. Just genuine appreciation, meaningful conversations, and a clear look toward what’s ahead.
Honoring Leadership and Service
A highlight of the evening was the formal installation of the 2026 Board of Directors. These are the leaders tasked with guiding the association through a dynamic and evolving market, and the depth of experience in the room was unmistakable.
We extend sincere congratulations to Jo Anne Rizza, who was officially sworn in as the new President of the Association. Her leadership style, industry insight, and steady presence position the HHAAOR well for the year ahead.
The association also recognized excellence within its ranks by announcing REALTOR® of the Year Raven Weakley and honoring Charles Sampson with Emeritus status. It was a fitting acknowledgment of a career defined by commitment and contribution.
We were also proud to see David Wedgeworth serving on the Board of Directors, further reflecting the strength and caliber of leadership supporting our local real estate community.
A Thank You That Matters
A special and heartfelt thank you was shared for Michelle Elliott of Charter One Realty, who concluded her term as last year’s President. Her dedication, leadership, and advocacy on behalf of REALTORS® across the Lowcountry made a lasting impact on the association and its members. Leadership like that deserves more than polite applause. It deserves real appreciation.
A Milestone Year for Charter One Realty
This evening held added significance for Charter One Realty, as the firm celebrates 40 years of serving clients throughout the coastal Lowcountry. Four decades of navigating market cycles, guiding buyers and sellers, and remaining deeply rooted in the communities we serve is no small achievement.
From Hilton Head Island to Bluffton and Beaufort, Charter One Realty’s legacy is built on trust, expertise, and relationships that extend well beyond a single transaction. Being part of an association that values professionalism and collaboration aligns seamlessly with that legacy.
Looking Ahead to 2026
The evening closed not with fanfare, but with optimism. The kind that comes from strong leadership, shared standards, and a collective commitment to doing things the right way.
As we look ahead to 2026, the tone has been set. Excellence is expected. Service is celebrated. And community remains at the heart of everything we do.
It was a night well spent, and a reminder of why this industry, and this Lowcountry market, continues to stand apart.
