Sellers are listening

It is a common scene when buying a home – you take the tour with your Realtor, getting a chance to scope out closet sizes, envision how your furniture will look in this room or that room and building a vision board about projects and upgrades you would look to tackle. The seller is traditionally out of the house at this point, so you are a little more free to be candid with your Realtor about the property.

“I absolutely love this place,” you gush, eyes drawn to the elegant crown molding, the spacious Carolina room, or the absolute day spa of the master bath. “I want to put an offer in now before anyone else does, and I’m willing to go above asking price if it comes to a bidding war.”

Hilton Head Island is one of those places that is best enjoyed at 14 mph or slower. For locals and visitors, this is the place to downshift and enjoy the more relaxed pace of island living. And there is no better way to do that than on a bike.

Criss-crossing the island, you will find 60 miles of mixed-use pathways, running alongside 278, dipping underneath it at Shelter Cove, wandering through lush maritime forests and taking you right up to the sugary sand of our beaches. The big push started in 2011, when the League of American Cyclists recognized Hilton Head Island as a silver-level…

It has to be somebody you trust with your money, and his/her advice can be critical in growing your money. Why should it be any different with your real estate partner?

If you follow my logic, the last thing you would do is just choose a friend to represent you on your home sale or purchase. There is a significant difference between a “so-so” agent and a professional well-trained Realtor.…

Formosan Subterranean Termites have entered the Lowcountry!

Just because you have a termite contract in the Lowcountry does not mean that you are covered for damage from this new type of dangerous termite. The Formosa termites have entered the Lowcountry, and you don’t want to find yourself without coverage.

Remember that termite coverage is really nothing other than term insurance and termites eat a structure from the inside out, so they are extremely difficult to detect. Once established, Formosan termites have never been eradicated from an area, so it looks like they are here to stay.

One of my neighbors is spending thousands of dollars to treat the Formosan termites, and he thought he had the right kind of coverage. I checked with my termite…

2018 Masters Tournament Coverage

Masters

The first of golf's four major championships starts at the Masters, held at the Augusta National Golf Club on April 4th - 8th. It is here that the course and players are on center stage. What makes Augusta National so special? Perhaps it is the course, unique and iconic, or maybe it is the history.
